Description
Up for auction is a copy of Hljomar aka Thor's Hammer's rare "Umbarumbamba" soundtrack EP, featuring "My Life", "Better Days", "I Don't Care" and "The Big Beat Country Dance", pressed in the UK in 1966 on Parlophone, cat no CGEP62, and exported in minuscule quantities to Iceland. And only Iceland. One of the few records of this value & rarity to live up to its reputation, the EP contains four genuinely incredible slices of furious fuzz-laden freakbeat, as good as anything from the era. One of my favourites of the genre...hell, one of my favourites of *any* genre.
Condition: it's clearly a well-loved copy, with a number of minor marks on both sides, but nothing serious at all. All four numbers play through fine & sound great. The optional centre has been pushed out, as one would expect from a record that's been to Iceland & back, and there's a name written across the Parlophone logo on both sides. No stickers, tears or other defacements. If I grade it VG, you shouldn't be disappointed. The gatefold cover looks like a repro. (Also, the "If You Knew"/"Love Enough" 45 originally packaged with the EP is not included.)
