Description

Tide- Almost Live LP 1970, privately pressed on Mouth Music (Lawrence Kansas). Cover is NM, minor wear to corners. Vinyl is M-, played but beautiful, shiny and scratchless. Tide were:
Paul Miller, Bass, Vocals
Tim Smith, Flute, Sax, Guitar, Harmonica and Vocals
Jim Stringer, Lead-Guitar, Piano, Lead-Vocals
Steve Hall, Drums.
Tide formed in 1968. This is the only album recorded by the band. Although the record never really took off (a one-off issue by a fledgeling lablel with little funds for promotion and distribution) They made a name for themselves opening for and touring with the likes of Eric Clapton and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. The record runs the whole spectrum of late 60's-early 70's underground sound, from country-tinged blues-rock stomps to progressive-funk jams to garage-acid-psych quitar acrobatics (on my favorite track "I Wish It Hadn't Ended That Way") For more info on the band Jim Stringer maintains a great page (www.musicroom.org/jimstringer/js_tide.htm) you can even hear 2 tracks from their planned second album, which unfortunately never actually came out. Goldmine books this LP quite high and I've never seen another copy, so here it is with no reserve and a very modest opening bid. I'm not sure how well my photo turned out, so here's the track listing
