A thrilling, revelatory debut, Tindersticks is a chamber pop masterpiece of romantic elegance and gutter debauchery. Within the framework of a remarkably consistent and mesmerizingly dank atmosphere, the group covers a stunning amount of ground -- "Her" is a crashing flamenco number, "The Walt Blues" is a tipsy organ instrumental, and "Paco de Renaldo's Dream" is an impenetrable cinematic monologue punctuated by subdued guitars, pianos, and strings. Stuart Staples' bacchanalian songs are obsessed with fluids, both bodily ("Blood," "Jism") and otherwise ("Nectar," "Whiskey and Water," "Raindrops"); no topic is too personal or too disturbing -- "Piano Song" is frightening in its callousness, while "City Sickness" is an unflinching examination of emotional and physical desperation. Fascinatingly constructed and strikingly ambitious, Tindersticks is insidiously labyrinthine: the music speaks softly but carries tremendous weight, and its hold grows more and more unbreakable with each listen.

LABELS: CLEAN and FRESH with NO wear, NO writing and NO evident spindle mark!! I WOULD SAY THAT THIS RECORD HAS HARDLY EVER BEEN PLAYED!!!
VINYL Visual: Both records have a DEEP, LIKE-NEW, GLOSSY SHEEN. The surfaces are virtually UNMARKED!!! (light hairlines only which have NO audio consequence)
VINYL Audio: OUTSTANDING audio delivery!! - Beautiful rich, clean, crisp audio reproduction!! STUNNING!!! There are NO scratches, NO jumps, NO sticks, NO clicks or pops and NO surface noise AT ALL!!!!  - truly awesome and very, VERY rare, especially for a first pressing!! The sound quality is simply SUPERB with NO groove-wear and NO distortion!!!! And I have NO hesitation in giving this a MINT(-) audio grading!!!! Plays absolutely PERFECTLY with NO faults WHATSOEVER!!!! NOT over-graded in ANY way as I use STRICT RECORD COLLECTOR grading standards!!!
SLEEVE: The 1st issue MATTE centre loading gatefold cover is in MINT(-) condition!! This delicate sleeve displays only MINIMAL storage wear with all its edges straight and true and all spine text CLEAR and SHARP!! A BEAUTIFUL SLEEVE!!
Comes complete with the 2 original black card inner sleeves which are PRISTINE with NO wear and most importantly NO splits!!! These card inners are quite thick and hard so the LPs are now housed - and will be posted in - in 2 new inner sleeves (along with the originals) so the records are not damaged during transit
