Description
Dive into the eclectic world of Todd Rundgren with the 1972 double LP "Something/Anything?" released on the Bearsville Records label with catalog number 2BX-2066. This vinyl masterpiece showcases Rundgren's versatility, featuring a blend of soft and prog rock that defined an era.
This LP is complete with 2 vinyl discs, the original gatefold LP cover, and includes an 11"x11" quad-fold out poster with lyrics and interesting notes along with photos. The paper inner sleeves possibly are not both original to this release as oddly one has a circular center cutout and one does not.
The vinyl discs visually are quite nice. I'm grading them both as Very Good Plus (VG+). They play well and sound great but there is one small blip on disc 2 / side 2 on the track "You Left Me Sore" - see the short video included in this listing. The LP Cover is graded Very Good Plus (VG+) as it has some minor shelf wear / ring wear. Please see the detailed photos included in this listing.
This release is a nice find for fans of the iconic artist Todd Rundgren. It's an interesting listening experience and includes two of his most well known songs "I Saw the Light" and "Hello It's Me".

From Wikipedia... Something/Anything? is the third album by American musician Todd Rundgren, released in February 1972. It was Rundgren's first album released under his own name, following two records credited to the quasi-group project Runt, and was also his first double album. It was recorded in late 1971 in Los Angeles, New York City and Bearsville Studios, Woodstock. The album is divided into four sections focused on different stylistic themes; the first three parts were recorded in the studio with Rundgren playing all instruments and singing all vocals in addition to producing. The final quarter contained a number of tracks recorded live in the studio without any overdubs, save for a short snippet of archive recordings from the 1960s.
The album peaked at number 29 on the Billboard 200 and was certified gold three years after its release. A single taken from the album, "Hello It's Me", was a top-five hit in the US in late 1973, and it contained a further hit, "I Saw the Light". Something/Anything? later attracted critical acclaim as one of the most significant records of the 1970s.
I played both sides of both discs completely through on my audio-technica AT-LP60XBT turntable without significant issues. This records both play and sounds great! There are occasional ticks and pops, but overall the Very Good Plus rating holds. There is the one slight issue as shown in the video, but overall the this is a really nice copy of this 53 year old double LP set.
