Tommy Scott - Boys Cry b/w I Can Only Give You Everything (German Ariola 19158 AT, '66) WHOAAA!! Amazing UK freakbeat version from legendary UK producer (Them, Wheels, July etc)! For some reason, Tommy saw fit to sneak this out in Germany only, on the small (but perfectly formed) Ariola label. Forget Boys Cry, a rather insipid pop throwaway, and spend repeated listenings at the altar of the B-side! Possibly the best EVER version of I Can Only..., with a gritty almost US garage vitality to it!! As comped on Diggin' For Gold many years back. Sleeve is a strong VG++, with some creasing and ringwear, but no seam splits (very thin paper). Vinyl is also very clean, again a few tiny surface marks, plays clean and clear with no skips, pops or jumps: a solid EX+ (close to M-). Reasonable reserve considering the scarcity of the item, bids close to reserve may be considered! Postage will be £2 (UK), €4 (Europe), $6 (rest of world). Payment by PayPal ONLY please.
