Welcome to Rock2FunkYourSoul's Rare Vinyl Auction! 150 records with particular focus this week on: Rock, Country, Folk, Psych, Bluegrass, Prog, Experimental, spanning mainly from the 1960's, 70's, and 80's! Cover Condition: VG (cut corner, light creasing, light ringwear on back, overall a very solid used copy of this jacket!)

Commentary (Something like the Beatles, Rush, etc. speak for themselves! This is a space for more obscure items, to provide a loving collector's notes, no dealer hype, just because a Xian private press has 5 seconds of fuzz guitar for example doesn't make it a psych grail out of acid archives or Pokora!)

Review: Does Tony Joe White have two self-titled albums, one in 1970, and another the year later?? Yes, yes he does. Blame Warner Bros. marketing department, as TJW had a title "The Swamp Fox". Warner Bros. having just signed him, preparing a major label stardom for him, felt differently, given the distribution of Monument (his former label) not having near the reach as good ol' WB, they wanted to introduce him themselves to the large, large public, so they self-titled it. One problem, this confused his fans to no end, having just bought a self-titled Tony Joe White, so sales were lackluster as a result. Warner Bros. recognized the problem was on their end, so they promised Tony Joe White he would have full control over future release titles, which is what happened subsequently. He didn't become the superstar they hoped, that he really deserved, in part because of this very avoidable misstep.
But he did record some amazing, incredible music, that is getting slowly but surely it's due recognition!
Ed Thrasher, fun fact, the legendary album cover designer behind Jimi Hendrix "Are You Experienced" among many many other classics, is the cover art director for this release!
Produced by Peter Asher, recorded at Memphis under the extremely capable engineering hands of Stax engineer Terry Manning.

My grading system comes from being a longtime collector myself, meaning conservative grading, and transparency :). NM EX VG+ VG VG- G+

If a record is sealed, I will state "sealed" and presumed "mint", making sure it is flat, and such. Should a buyer win a sealed item, I am happy to unseal it for them upon request.
Packing is done using LP mailers, record outside of jacket in polysleeve. All records that reach $30+ in final bidding will have a MoFi or similar high quality inner sleeve along with OIS (If OIS is applicable!)
