Description
TONY LANE & THE FABULOUS SPADES ‘Introducing Baby Please Don’t Go’ (Justice 133, Mono, 1966)
One of the good ones on the legendary Justice label out of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. TONY LANE & THE FABULOUS SPADES turn in a lively set of frat and garage covers that’s fairly up-to-date at least in terms of the label. KILLER take on ‘Baby Please Don’t Go’ as well as a version of ‘See See Rider’ that likely ranks in the Top Five alltime and a diverse cover shot showing some of the SPADES still rocking spit curls and duck tails while others have clearly fully embraced the New English Sound. Rare and getting rarer by the day.
CONDITION: VG (small tear and piece of tape on front cover and writing on rear-sleeve, seams and spine strong) /VG (vinyl is a strong VG+ with slight scuffs and wear, labels are a mess with water damage on both sides bringing the total condition down)
Do not miss out on this item as you are unlikely to see it again soon and make sure to check out my other auctions for more private, garage, psych and hard rock rarities.
