GRADAZIONE RIGOROSA - STRICTLY GRADED

Copertine e vinili sono visualmente gradati dopo un’attenta osservazione sotto la luce del sole fatta sulla mia terrazza a tetto. Nelle giornate grigie il controllo viene effettuato sotto una forte lampada alogena con l’aiuto di una lente d’ingrandimento. Tutti i dischi in asta sono stati interamente ascoltati, i 33 giri su un giradischi Rega Planar 3 fornito di una testina a magnete mobile Grado Statement 1 mentre gli EP e i singoli a 45 giri con un Thorens TD 166 BC fornito di una testina, sempre MM, Goldring 1006. Ritenendo che le abituali classificazioni quali Mint, Ex, Vg, ecc., ecc… siano poco significative per spiegare le reali condizioni dei dischi ed anche estremamente soggettive, precedo sempre tali classificazioni con una breve descrizione degli eventuali difetti che ho riscontrato, ad eccezione di Mint- che il più alto grado che conferisco a qualsiasi disco. Soltanto per le copie ancora sigillate all’origine utilizzo MINT/MINT.

Sleeves and vinyls are visually graded after a careful check in bright sunshine on my roof terrace. In the gray days I watch the records under a strong halogen lamp with the help of a magnifying glass. All records in auction have been fully heard. Lps on a Rega Planar 3 turntable with a Grado Statement 1 moving magnet cartridge, EPs and singles 45 rpm. on a Thorens TD 166 BC turntable with a Goldring 1006 MM cartridge. Considering that the usual classifications such as Mint, EX, Vg, etc…, etc… are not significant to explain the real condition of the records in addition to a total subjectivity of opinion, I always introduce before these classifications a short description concerning any defects I have verified with the exception of Mint minus, the highest grade I declare. I use MINT/MINT exclusively for the still from factory sealed copies.

Note : tutte le composizioni sono di Tony Redfield eccetto "Swing My Song" (b1) musicata da Jean-Pierre Bourtayre con liriche di Vline Buggy e Yves Dessca mentre "Waltz for Leo and Lisa" (b3) è stata composta da Luc Ferrari. Colonna sonora davvero poco conosciuta (uscita solo in Giappone) ma indubbiamente piacevole in tutti i suoi 11 brani strumentali. Si alternano ritmi vivaci riflettenti atmosfere spensierate, un brano jazzistico, "Nova" (a4) con un ottimo sax in primo piano, temi dalle caratteristiche sinfoniche ma interpretati dall'orchestra con buona intensità, personalità e talvolta in fusione con un pò di sonorità rock o country (a1, a2). Ci sono anche percussioni Afro abbastanza ossessive in "Bonga Bonga" (a6) e infine "Swing My Song" (b1), un sofisticato brano classico che sembra un valzer ma valzer non è, con fiati e basso che infondono una certa vivacità. 

I titoli degli undici brani possono esser letti guardando il particolare del retrocopertina raffigurato nella scansione n° 4.

Notes : all compositions by Tony Redfield except for "Swing My Song" (b1) by Jean-Pierre Bourtayre and "Waltz for Leo and Lisa" (b3) by Luc Ferrari. A rather obscure soundtrack (released exclusively in Japan) but certainly enjoyable in all its 11 instrumental tracks. Are alternated lively rhythms reflecting carefree atmospheres, a jazzy tune, "Nova" (a4) with an excellent sax in the foreground, themes from the symphonic characteristics but performed by orchestra with good intensity, personality and sometimes in fusion with a bit of rock or country music (a1, a2). There are also quite obsessive Afro percussion in "Bonga Bonga" (a6) and finally "Swing My Song" (b1), a sophisticated classical piece which looks like a waltz but it is not waltz with wind instruments and bass which instill a certain liveliness.

The titles of the eleven tracks can be read looking at the detail of the back cover depicted in the scan No. 4.
