Description
If you can find this ultra-rare record I doubt if you'll see it in this lovely condition. It's by Tony Sheridan and The Beatles and was recorded in 1961. It's entitled 'My Bonnie' B/W 'The Saints' and it's pressed on the UK Polydor label (catalogue no. NH 66833). I think there were two pressngs both from 1961 and I think this is the second but I'm not entirely sure. The sleeve is a plain white diecut type (obviously not the original sleeve). It is in fine condition and I've graded it Ex++. The record is in superb condition considering it is almost 50 years old. The centre is a 3-point type and both sides play really well with some minor surface noise throughout which does not detract at all from the overall quality of the record. I could not detect any pops or clicks when I played the record 3 times and there are definitely no jumps or skips. The textured labels on both sides are in superb condition with hardly any spindle marks. The word 'DELETED' has been very faintly stamped across the centre of each label. It states around the circumference of each label - 'ALL RIGHTS OF THE MANUFACTURER AND OF THE OWNER OF THE RECORDED WORK RESERVED UNAUTHORISED PUBLIC PERFORMANCE BROADCASTINGAND COPYING OF THIS RECORD PROHIBITED. MFD. BY DEUTSCHE GRAMMOPHON (GREAT BRITAIN) LTD. The labels themselves feature an early Polydor logo and are almost orange in colour with black and white wording and some attractive gold stars. On the left hand side of each label it states - 'Progressive Music Ltd. - MADE IN ENGLAND'. On the right hand sside of each label it states - 'RECORDING FIRST PUBLISHES 1961'. The matrix numbers on the run-off grooves are - side one - NH 66833 V A // 1 VV 3 (the figure 3 is reversed) - side two - NH 66833 B V 1 V 1. Please understand that these matrix numbers are very faint and are completely clear. I have graded the record as Ex- which I believe is very fair.
I believe that the winner of this auction will not be disappointed. I try to grade all my items as accurately and conservatively as possible and I will provide a full refund to any winner of my auctions who is not 100% satisfied. Please see my feedback for any references required.
