Description
ITEM : 2 track single in original company sleeve.
ARTIST: Toomorrow
SONGS: You’re My Baby Now/ Goin’ Back
DETAILS: Australian issue – RCA Label # 63-5005
GENRE : Psych - Folk - Rock - Pop
YEAR : 1970
INFO : A super-rare Aussie issued single from UK outfit Toomorrow who recorded this one-off 1970 soundtrack to the Harry Saltzman-Don Kirshner film of the same name. The movie was a sci-fi musical mix with members of the band being Olivia Newton-John (vocals), Karl Chambers (drums), Ben Thomas (guitar, vocals) and Vic Cooper (organ, piano, saxophone, guitar and recorder.
The A-side here is a late 60s psych styled rocker while the flip “Goin’Back” sees Olivia out front on this country inspired number which became her solo trademark later in the 70s.
‘Toomorrow’ the album didn’t set the charts on fire and is now a highly sought after collectors piece as well as being ONJ’s first LP appearance. This Australian issued single fell through the cracks ; simply never turns up and accordingly a real find for fans.
CONDITION: Note : All records (except where Mint) have been vacuum-machine cleaned and fully played on a quality system to determine an accurate grading.
· Vinyl : Great. Despite a number of light handling marks it tracks along sweetly with no obvious faults in terms of pops, blips, skips, sticking or background noise. On looks a VG+ though play-back wise I feel it is worthy of an EX grading and can’t see anyone being disappointed.
· Labels : A name in small print on A side .. otherwise very presentable.
· Sleeve : Original company cover in excellent condition. A little creasing consistent with 50 year old paper sleeves.
