We have a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 2/3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers.
We mail all paid orders out once a week on Fridays/Saturdays. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule to Monday. We strive to keep our shipping and handling costs as close to actual charges as reasonable. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. Please be aware we have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.

Contains the scarce "Mustang Sally" sticker on front cover...most of the stickers went lost when folks tore off the original outer cellophane wrapper...and includes the original printed Atlantic Records inner sleeve...
ORIGINAL 1967 first pressing in glorious MONO of a king-size R&B soul rock groover...Thee only person we know of that can compete with James Brown in the screams & grunts department.
What a way to start a new year... Released in January, 1967, Pickett released his second all-killer-no-filler platter of unadulterated Southern Soul. The REAL nitty gritty...
Sir Mack Rice's "Mustang Sally" is legendary... the stuttering groove, the raw horns and infectious backing vocals and, above all, that sweat-stained, growlin' 'n' wailin' by the Wicked Pickett. This tune epitomizes Southern Soul at its fiercest.
The groove continues on a frantic reading of "New Orleans", with its brassy delights and rockin' beat, while the moment of withdrawn introspection on "Sunny" is sheer bliss... Beautifully arranged, Pickett puts his own spin on this great tune by songsmith Bobby Hebb. And wow those haunting guitar fills by Muscle Shoals axeman Chips Moman.
Pickett moves on to pay tribute to another giant of Soul, with an up-beat, stomping reading of "Everybody Needs Somebody to Love"... That tambourine is on-the-ONE...
The gutbucket blues shuffle "Ooh Poo Pah Doo" was just made for Pickett, while he is equally on fire on the contemplative Dan Penn/Spooner Oldham classic "She Ain't Gonna Do Right". Check those wailing horns and call-and-response backing vocals.
The flipside opens with Wilson's version of Eddie Floyd's smash hit "Knock on Wood". Both Wilson and Floyd had been in the Falcons, of course, and Floyd had become a prolific writer for many of Stax'/Muscle Shoals' artists.
Next up is another blaring piece of down home blues beltin' with "Time Is on My Side", which is followed by the slow, dreamy "Up Tight Good Woman" - another Penn/Oldham vehicle.
The pace is picked up considerably with the punchy, swinging "You Left the Water Running", and Wilson remains in a rough 'n' raw bag on the struttin', fatback groove of "Three Time Loser", another jam co-written by fellow soulster Don Covay.
Ending the LP is the quirky "Nothing You Can Do", composed by Bobby Womack, who, at the time, was fast becoming Pickett's most reliable writer.

CONDITION: The cover is clean and solid with bright original colors, VG++ not bad at all for a 43 year old teen-scene favorite...when most originals are well beat up, here a survivor...no split seams, no bends, no writing and been well handled after all these years. Collection ready!
The vinyl is all shiny over both sides VG++ having at worse some nothing superficial scuffs, probably from sliding the record out/in of the paper inner sleeve, the deep groove pressing easily plays excellent with no audio problems. The record is in great shape, collection ready with no upgrade really needed! Both old Atlantic labels are clean
