We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. SCARCE ... 1968 FIRST PRESS of one of the **best** Taj Majal albums... Taj is backed by a grindig gritty band that includes a cookin' JESSE ED DAVIS...

Infact...This album is amazing. You never hear the blues quite like Taj plays the blues. "Corinna," "Ain't That A Lot of Love" are really great blues/rock hybrids, and they are among the standout tacks. A great thing about this album too is that it has a timeless feel, contemporary in any era - the hallmark of any great recording.

The blues never sounded so fresh as it does in "The Natch'l Blues" ...recorded in the spring and fall of 1968, opens with more stripped-down Delta-style blues in the manner of his debut, but adds a little more amplification (partly courtesy of Al Kooper on organ) before moving into wholly bigger sound on numbers like "She Caught the Katy and Left Me a Mule to Ride" and "The Cuckoo" -- the latter, in particular, features crunchy electric and acoustic guitars and Gary Gilmore playing his bass almost like a lead instrument, like a bluesman's answer to John Entwistle.
Most notable, however, may be the two original closing numbers, "You Don't Miss Your Water ('Til Your Well Runs Dry)" and "Ain't That a Lot of Love," which offer Taj Mahal treading onto Otis Redding territory. "Ain't That a Lot of Love," is driven by a hard electric guitar sound and a relentless bass part that sounds like a more urgent version of the bassline from the Spencer Davis Group's "Gimme Some Lovin'."

CONDITION: The cover: Solid all over, the front cover is near "EX" (excellent) the back cover is VG++ ... from 44 years ago: No seam splits, no bends, very collectible and quite RARE in this pressing

The vinyl: the 360 sound Columbia labels are clean as are the grooves on both sides, very shiny smooth and clean M- top level
