We have a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 2/3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers.
We mail all paid orders out once a week on Fridays/Saturdays. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule to Monday. We strive to keep our shipping and handling costs as close to actual charges as reasonable. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. Please be aware we have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.

Beautiful minty clean (both the cover and vinyl)...A 40 years old long time collectible album --The VINTAGE DEAD is a recorded document of a magical evening at the famous AVALON BALLROOM, September 16, 1966 ...opening up for the DEAD on this night was the OXFORD CIRCLE. This is the first Mouse & Kelly collaboration for The SKULL & ROSES Grateful Dead poster artwork design as depicted on the cover (note: the original poster on this cover is valued at $15,000)

Having acquired and listened closely to some two dozen 1966 shows, it can be said that this is one of the best DEAD gigs of '66. The playing is tight, vocals are better than many 1966 shows. Even Bob Weir sounds good, which he often didn't in '66. Jerry's guitar soloing is smokin', particularly in the Dancing in the Streets Jam and I Know You Rider exhibits shades of the greatness to come, but also excellent in its own right.
VINTAGE DEAD is a fine document of the Dead as a "dance band" in their early years. One of the most notable things is that swirling sound they had with Pigpen's organ playing melody as lead instrument on many of the songs and Jerry playing lead guitar lines around Pig's organ. It tended to create a swirling sound. It's not hard to imagine people on psychedelic substances dancing like mad to songs like the 7:55 "Dancing In The Streets" while flashing strobe lights added to the musical experience. This is the quintessential "primal Dead" listening experience.
