PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question.   OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week.   Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback.   We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! RARE ...Original 1972 first pressing in laminated gatefold cover ... the very FIRST and best Lp by Novalis ...way different than their other Lp's, containing early symphonic elements dominated by liquid gushing Hammomd organ....way underrated....

The Very first album from this Hamburg quartet, "Banished Bridge" is one of the earlier examples of the German symphonic progressive sounds... The album is dynamic and full of twists and turns, remaining a remarkable achievement. This one features some of the strongest uses of Hammond organ tones you'll ever hear. Really powerful and with vibrato used beautifully -- a monster on this one! Frankly, I don't think anything else I've heard by them brings forth this same fire and intensity. While there is discipline here, the bass and drum work of Schünzel & Biereichel gets very busy at times, and far surpasses the often more mid 70s Floyd approach used on the next two albums. Although the album was not groundbreaking (at the time), it has become one of the most highly regarded albums on the green Brain label by specialists. The lengthy epic (17 mins) title track is one (if not THE) of their best tracks and is certainly the basis of Novalis' sound. Starting out on an almost tribal beat with birds effects in the mixings, this slow starting brooding moody epic features haunting organ ever crescendo-ing (never seeming to reach its apex) topped off by almost-whispered vocals. Pure marvellous grooves garanteed. After the tastey side-long suite of the first side, can Novalis actually top that or at least equal it? Well they certainly come close with highlights such as "High Evolution" and its superb organs greatly underlined by a Mellotron. The 9-min+ "Laughing" is a superb and tense epic, where keyboardist Rahn roams between Jon lord, Keith Emerson, Ken Hensley and Vincent Crane. The closer "Inside of Me, Inside Of You" is somewhat more coherent, with a signature bass line and organ theme that works well as a final send of to an overall fine album, one that has still rather surprisingly been missed by many collectors. - Hartwig Biereichel / drums, percussion
- Lutz Rahn / organ, mellotron, piano, synthesizers
- Heino Schünzel / bass
- Jürgen Wenzel / vocals, guitar A: Banished bridge (17:06) B:
