" TRADITIONAL JAZZ SCENE 1956 - Recorded at the National Jazz Federation Concert " - SANDY BROWN'S JAZZ BAND / DAVE CAREY'S JAZZ BAND , Tempo Records (LAP 8) 1956.
This is the very rare original 1956 10" LP featuring two different Jazz Bands recorded in concert at Royal Festival Hall on 18th February, 1956.
Dave Carey's side features Johnny Codd (trumpet), Tony Milliner (trombone), Tony Gibbons (clarinet), Pat Hawes (piano), Bob Mack (guitar), Eric Starr (bass) and Dave Carey (drums), performing I'M A LITTLE BLACKBIRD and SPECIAL DELIVERY STOMP.
Sandy Brown's side features Al Fairweather (trumpet), SAndy Brown (clarinet), Alan Thomas (piano), Mo Umansky (banjo), Brian Parker (bass) and Graham Burbage (drums) performing BLACK SIX BLUES, BLUES STAMPEDE and FIFTY-FIFTY BLUES.
This record has been professionally cleaned on my MOTH record cleaning machine.
CONDITION:
VINYL = EXCELLENT++ (In normal daylight I could not see any marks or imperfections on the vinyl, under my bright grading lamp I could just make out a couple of faint surface marks/paper scuffs - but these do not translate into any kind of interference/noise during playback. There is just the very faintest of surface noise during the silent run-in which will be as it was originally pressed, and which disappears before the music starts... otherwise there is no excessive surface noise, no groove damage, no clicks, no pops, no distortion, etc - hardly ever played and stills plays perfectly - strong, clear and clean. . Note: I have thoroughly tested this record in my Linn LP12 turntable (which is generally quite critical test) and stand by my grading and description, although I cannot guarantee exactly how it will sound on your turntable. Sorry to be so uptight, but there are some very daft people out there! Overall, as good a copy (the only copy?) of this LP as I am ever likely to see in my lifetime)
SLEEVE = EXCELLENT- (As my picture shows, still in great shape for it's age - no big rips, no delamination, etc. Just a white back that is now off-white, a light crease on the front cover and someone's surname and date ("Glover" 25/6") written in blue pen on the rear sleeve mark it down slightly. For further clarification, please check out my photos)
NOTE: It's probably worth noting that we are an actually physical record shop trading for over twenty years, with literally decades of record grading and trading experience under our collective belts. Unlike so many of the self-proclaimed experts and have-a-go-heroes that currently clog up ebay, we know how to grade records!
