From the same collection as my other current listings comes another well cared for original UK album ... John Barleycorn Must Die by Traffic of 1969 (ILPS 9112) on the first pressing pink 'i' Island label. This lovely album has barely been played, as you can see from my photos of the labels and when viewing the vinyl under harsh halogen lighting. The disc lies perfectly flat on the turntable and the lovely pink Island labels are both unblemished with very little sign of spindle activity and certainly no wear around the spindle holes. Both sides of the vinyl look virtually unmarked even when examined under harsh halogen lighting. This lovely slab of pink Island vinyl easily grades EX.

The original rustic sepia card gatefold sleeve has also been well cared for over the last 41 years. There are no tears, rips, creases or writing and all the edges are straight and true while there is a strong fine unfeathered opening edge. There is a little browning towards the edges, a tiny compression ('ding') of the top left corner (nothing untoward) while the spinal text is perfectly readable. The colourful interior gatefold band photo is flawless. Overall this is a lovely strong original example of this gatefold sleeve, not at all floppy and dog-eared, and well worthy of its EX grading.
