Description
Great copy of the Classic 1970 TRAFFIC album JOHN BARLEYCORN MUST DIE. Genuine 1st press with Pink Island Label with matrix and stampers as follows :
Matrix / Runout (Variant 1 Side A engraved sterling stamped): ILPS 9116 A/2 UAS 5504 A 6.3.70 RC sterling
Matrix / Runout (Variant 1 Side B engraved sterling stamped): ILPS 9116 B/2 UAS 5504 B 6.3.70 LH sterling
1st pressing with pink "I" label and unlaminated. The gatefold cover is made from a tactile material with a coarse finish, the outside is silk screened, and inside there is double paged colour image of the band.
The cover I would grade a Good maybe + as the spine is cracked and there are a couple of marks on the cover. However, it is the original material which is like a thick card type and the rest is quite clean. Please see pics.
The LP itself is in near Mint condition with no visible scratches or or marks. It is made of thick vinyl and lays perfectly flat. The label is clean with very little evidence of spindle marks. The sound is superb with no repetitive clicks or jumps. There is a very small amount of background noise more noticeable between tracks and in quieter moments (as one would expect with regard to a nearly 50 year old piece of vinyl) but certainly nothing to be concerned about. To be fair if you want perfection in no background sound buy a CD with flat sound. These original copies are made to be listened to and are appreciated for their superior audible sound. I would grade the media as Near Mint or EX + at the very least. Great sound!
