Description
- "Last Exit" was the third album by Traffic when it was released in 1969 on Island Records. Side one comes from studio sessions in London while side two was recorded live at the Fillmore West in San Francisco. It was out-of-print for many years before it was reissued again on vinyl in 1988 featuring new Direct Metal Mastering technology. DMM was developed in the 1980's by Newmann and Telefunken-Decca in Germany in an attempt to increase sound quality by bypassing conventional lacquer masters in the pressing process.
- This is a rare promo copy (90925-1) of the DMM reissue with the original U.K. cover art that is in excellent condition. There's virtually no ring wear and I grade it VG+ but note the promo cut in the corner. The disc test plays cleanly and I rate it VG+ which is as high as I go on vintage vinyl. It was mastered at Sterling Sound in NYC and the Side 1 dead wax is etched ST-IL-886875-DMM-B Sterling.
- In addition to its original packaging, this album will come with a high quality Anti-Static Round Bottom Sleeve to hold the vinyl disc and a sturdy 3 mil. polyethylene Archival Quality Outer Sleeve. It will ship securely in the special corrugated Album Mailer seen in the last picture.
- This vintage 12" vinyl album has been sitting upright on a shelf in climate controlled storage for the past 32 years. It has not been played in decades other than a quick test spin for this sale which found no skips or obvious flaws. Like all used records it should be cleaned and wiped with an anti-static brush to minimize the occasional pops that are part of playing vinyl albums. Buyers should note that this is a well-cared for but used record and it will have some minor imperfections.
