WHITE LABEL PROMO / 1st PRESSING (P1/P1 Matrix)

VINYL is NM-
Thick solid Vinyl is super clean -Like New except for a faint pressing mark at beginning of Side 1 that is 100% inaudible. LP plays extremely clean, clear and bold throughout. Labels are pristine both sides.

COVER is VG
Gatefold cover has no soil, creases, writing or splits. Low grade is only due to significantly noticeable shelf wear, partly touched-up. Very solid, crisp and straight edged with sharp corners all around.
*This title's cover, with so much black background, has always been extremely susceptible to wear, unless found still in shrinkwrap - almost never seen, due to opening gatefold.

MONSTER Debut LP - with some of the very best "Fairy Tale Rock" ever recorded.
"The Giant's Dead Hurrah!", on Side 1 is possibly the single greatest example of the idiom, easily matching anything on The Small Faces classic "Ogden's Nut Gone Flake". Much more of the same on this LP, some delicate, some very intensely rocking. They never recorded another LP like this. HIGHLY Recommended!

"Bell Sound" and "Bestway" both stamped in trail-off wax both sides.

As many are aware, earliest Threshold albums were always white labels - and they did not mark "PROMOTIONAL..." on any of their LP labels at this point?.? The usual way that their 1969-1971 Promos are identified is by a round sticker on front or back cover. This LP does not have that, but it DOES have the unique "P" designation in the matrix, only used on their first run Promotional pressings. Most people don't know to look for this - and it isn't frequently encountered (but you may already have a Threshold LP in your collection with the "P1" matrix number).
