Up for auction is a mega rare copy of the Travis Biggs album "Challenge" released on his private Detroit label TB&C in 1975. This is an original pressing, not one of the cheap reissues. No UPC/bar code. Heavy cardboard, vintage fold-over and pasted back cover. I have read that there were only 500 copies produced in the original pressing. That is truly mega rare. Biggs' versions of "I Wish" and "Fly Like An Eagle" are underground classics. This copy is one of the nicer ones you'll find. The cover is in superb condition with virtually no signs of previous handling or use. No blemishes, no seam splits, no ring wear, no nothing. Pristine is a word that comes to mind. Looks like it's just come fresh out of the original shrink wrap. I grade the cover Near Mint (NM). The vinyl looks equally nice. Full original glossy sheen. Clean labels. No obvious scratches or scuffs. Maybe some very superficial signs of very faint hairlines from having been taken out of the original paper inner sleeve a few times. I've play-tested this copy and overall it sounds very good. Some noticeable surface noise in the run-in grooves that carries into some of the first tracks on both sides--not over-powering in any way, but it's there. Other parts of the record are perfectly quiet and clean. If you're looking for an audiophile clean copy this isn't it, and good luck finding one. Visually the record looks Near Mint Minus (NM-), and it plays VG+ or better depending on the track.
