I try to never have scratchy records in my collection...but sometimes they're the only way to hear some music that's otherwise going to cost $100+. I may be living a sheltered life here in New York, but this is the only copy of this UK album I've ever seen.
To get the condition out of the way, the disc has many visible scratches and light surface noise...it plays, though, and the noise doesn't overwhelm the music! Anyway, what could overwhelm the Troggs? VG
The sleeve is one of those 60s flapfolded UK oddities, with photos of the band's heads floating in little explosion cartoons, and some classic liner notes from a guy at the NME. And it's got all manner of chips and tape marks and other little issues... VG
But what you NEED to know is that the Troggs were a great band, who wrote great originals! There's just three cover songs here, out of 14, and the songwriting is great. This band isn't just "Wild Thing" and "Love is All Around"--although those two examples do suggest what a great range of moods they could capture...! So here are 14 songs you probably haven't heard, from the peak year of a great British group.
