Description
This is a quite interesting LP. It is actually comprised of tunes which were used as background music for seque fragments when in very early 70s, the Turkish Radio & Television Corporation had only one channel. Thus, they were trying to choose both catchy but also quality material (yes, there were times when TV stations cared for quality!). Most of these came from the records under the Yonca label which cared a lot for musical experimentalism and released interesting jazz/folk/psychedelic records. Anyway, the result is an awesome LP with tunes that are on a very neat equilibrium of east and west (one thing Turkey has very high grades on!). There's great jazz intertwined with local instrumentation and with clever arrangements. Very enjoyable. The last track has Nathan Davis with the late renowned ney player Aka Gunduz Kutbay.
The condition of this copy is as best as you can find. The cover is in EX+ condition. One side of the vinyl is in M- shape and the other side somehow has these very thin hairlines which the eye catches when the disc is exposed to light. Nothing serious of course and the whole disc plays as best as a minimally used M- copy. 1973!
