Since the release of '07's 'Working Nights' Trus'me has refined his sound to a midnight grooving tribute to the classic disco, soul and funk roots of the Detroit house he loves so much, inviting Paul Randolph of Jazzanova, Moodymann cohort Pirahnahead, Dâm Funk and Amp Fiddler to help accomplish his vision. The biggest change has to be the shift from heavily sample-based techniques towards real instrumentation from his trusted players, even performing cover versions of Bill Withers' 'Can We Pretend' with Amp Fiddler, and an interpretation of the WasNotWas disco epic 'Wheel Me Out' with Dâm Funk, complete with talkbox and rubbery G-funk vibes. 'Sucker For A Pretty Face' heavily reminds of Linkwood's slow pounding house music, while those looking for another 'W.A.R. Dub' will come close on the killer closer 'Sweet Mother', built deep, strong and jacking for the club.
