Description
An original 1st press of EW on the UK Fly label. Matrix 2/2. Stampers 1L/1-GH. Please note the very 1st press is easily identified by the lack of the asterisk and publishing credit change against the track "Jeepster". As Electric Warrior was released Marc's relationship with his record company started to sour and this publishing credit change is one of the first signs of the disagreements to come. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original E J Day printed heavy-card cover. It's worth holding out for these 1st issue covers as they were made of much thicker card than the G&L covers just a few months later. Also included is the original bespoke inner sleeve. We will house the Lp in a new generic inner to save any further damage to the original one. NO poster..an at this price we hope you won't be expecting one!
Vinyl (Ex-/Vg+) Still in very nice condition despite having seen a moderate level of use. Under close inspection we can make out a few light marks per side, and one or two getting feelable - but nothing heavy or nasty looking. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a level of playback fluctuating between VERYGOOD+ & NEAREXCELLENT with one deviation. This may sound over complicated, but we're basically trying to convey that the audio quality is variable. In some parts not far from Excellent and in others a few shades below due to the introduction of a bit of interference. But let me assure you that this LP sounds great...and to paraphrase.."it rocks"! And at this price it is something of a bargain. Most tracks play back pretty clean with the occasional couple of crackles and an occasional tick. The odd mark in a couple of tracks will, perhaps, introduce a few more crackles and a couple of clicks. So, Planet Queen - plays very nice, but there are a few ticks in the opening section. But overall this still remains a corking little player and a genuine 1st press at an accommodating price.
Cover (Vg-) These EW covers tend to look a bit beleaguered by this stage in their life - and this copy is no exception. I would argue that it is acceptable and no better. A good bit of surface wear on the front and creasing as is common. Ditto the rear. There's a fair bit of edge wear and do not expect to make out any text on the spine. But thanks to the E J Day heavy card employed the cover still retains very nice rigidity.
Inner (Vg) On the face of it quite nice with minor ageing. But the edges are a bit split in places. We will not house the LP in this inner for transit, we'll use a brand new inner.
