Hi there Firstly can I take say a few words about this item before I get onto the details.  This really is one of the Rarest Jazz LP's from the 1950's and these were at the time way ahead of there time this one dates from the 1958.

I should point out I personally have no Knowage in this era but at the same time I do understand that back then it must of been something else.

I Should also say that despite some people out there I always grade my items with care I make no Special Grade due to its age. with me what you see is what you get.

The item

Sleeve is very weak and made of paper type card that was then finished with some sort of Laminated Covering.  These are all prone to wear of some sort, Its a Single Sleeve with Flip-backs the sleeve is holding up well and still looks good. firstly you will see from the Pictures that there is some Tape to the Bottom Right this is a sleeve repair (not by me) looks like it was done quite some time ago. Its to Hold the bottom right edge wear the bottom flip has worn a little and while owner was pulling the disc out he ripped the front slightly 5CM is the area affected. the Rest of the Sleeve is really nice you will also note the there is some Discolouration more noted from the rear (Age) Slight Yellowing. Little Stuffing to the covers and few creases on the Spine area you can see from me Pictures again. Really The sleeve is looking good and I would say taking into account the type of sleeve its still looking VG or some might say higher.

Record/Disc

Matrix Side One VMCT-1225-IE Side Two VMCT 1224-IE

It looks in very clean condtion it was pressed up in London 113 Fulham Road by Tempo. There are odd little stuffs on both side mainly viewable under bright Bulb not many six if I am counting.  It might be called Ex by Some but due to what I will go on to say its VG++.

Labels Clean no pen marks or Rips or damage there are some light spindle marks around the centre hole the Label has that soft Textured Feel with a small groove around the edge hear the dead wax aera.

Playback Firstly I would never sell a record myself without playing it first I have had to ask my Jazz Friend to also have a play since I am not a Jazz Fan I will Explain. The vinyl has very light Grooves worse then Decca from the look of it, and when you start the disc you can hear some Crackle. The music starts and it still sounds a bit but then the Jazz starts for Real the Crackle is very low and does not Spoil the Listening Pleasure.  I have asking about this and it seams that some LP's from this time wear not pressing with the High Standard of latter and a lot of Jazz can have some Recording noise, I have no Idea if this is case all I can say is that its been played both sides by me and we both felt that the music was still very Enjoyable.

My Record Grading System (Based On UK Record Collector Guide)

I always play all my items before Listing and all items are cleaned

With my Record Cleaning Machine I only ever remove the Dust I and

Never Add Chemical Products to the Record.

I always give Clear Information on all items such as the Sleeves and Records,

Along with Extra items like Inners or Posters etc.

(M) Rarely used unless Item is still un-open new.

(M-) Very Clean Item with little signs of use, both sides clean with

No Scratches or Surface marks there might be odd Paper marks

But information will be given.

 (A Fantastic Collector Copy)

(Ex) The Record has been Played shows some signs of having been

Played, Strong Copy Retaining Full Crisp sound. Might be odd

Hair Line or Few Very Minor Paper Scuffs. Playback would

Still Be Ace with no Playback Issues.

(VG++) This Grade might be used when a copy still retains

Good Crisp sound but might have extra paper marks or

Few Hairlines or even odd Scratch this would not be Audible

(Good Keeper Copy)

(Ex-) Very Simmer to the VG++ Grade

(VG) The Item has clearly been played many times but Despite Visual

Marks Like Hair lines or Scratches and Some Surface marks. The Sound

Still Retains Good Strong Sound but, if there is scratch that Sounds I clearly indicate where it occurs and how it affects the track playing time.  

Items With Jumps will not be listed as they have little Value to Collector.
