HERE ARE two very unusual records: German imports, masters recorded in Europe, that somehow made their way to St. Paul, Minnesota, and were issued in their own 70000 series on the PURITAN label! Evidently, the "Hagen Import Co." of St. Paul instigated this bold transaction. There were millions of German-Americans amongst the Swedes in that part of the country, so it's easy to see why Hagen had "eyes" for this deal.
Puritan 70039 GROSSES STREICH-ORCHESTER: "GESCHICHTEN AUS DER WIENERWALD" ("Tales From the Vienna Woods") and "DORFSCHWABEN AUS OSTERRIECH" ("Swallows from Austria."). These charming and famous Johann Strauss waltzes, composed in the 1860s, were electrically recorded in a large, resonant hall by a crack German orchestra. Very nice renditions!
Puritan 70047 L. V. D. SANDE: "NOCH SIND DIE TAGE DER ROSEN" ("Still the Days of Roses"), and "SCHONE IST DER JUGEND" ("Youth is Beautiful"). A couple of lieder, tenderly rendered by Mr. Sande. Full orchestra accompaniment.
These two original 1927 Puritan records both are in unbelievably lovely E+ condition!

These records come from my private collection, which I have been accumulating since 1967, and now am downsizing! My highest priority in these eBay auctions is to give you the best possible idea of a record’s true condition and aesthetic value. I always post at least four clear images, showing the record fore and aft, a close-up of the label, and the whole disc, warts and all. If my purple prose won’t cut it, the pictures will! Shipping is done with expert care. Your record will brave Media Mail in a stout corregated box, between four sheets of cardboard and a couple of “packers.” I hope you are amused by these descriptions, and by the quality of service being offered.
