Not since black sabbath has a band been able to progress - dark, tuned down distorted heavy guitar based music with such melody and genuine creativity. The melodism and creativity in the songwriting is just simply awe inspiring. Peter Steele (vocals, base)is raw, honest, self deprecating, intense and full of dark humour - in a touching genuine way. This album is a true rarity, what heavy metal should be about but all too often isnt.
