TYRANNOSAURUS REX
"My People Were Fair And Had Sky In Their Hair....
But Now They're Content To Wear Stars On Their Brows"
(UK) Regal SLRZ 1003
1968 (First Pressing)
Still in Shrink wrap !!
Marc Bolan's first LP release. Beautiful folk sounds seen through psychedelic
glasses and mystical embrace. The front cover is a painting by George
Underwood which is still admirable today. This cover often graces collectors'
walls in frame. Really guys and guyettes, this is a beautiful piece.
The LP includes the original double sided "dinosaur" lyric sheet.
AN ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS COPY of this collector's classic.
I bought this as a "special order" import from Record Town in San Antonio,
Texas in 1968 and played it once (recorded a copy on cassette for replay to
save the vinyl). Please take note that this analog stereo copy is the ORIGINAL
SOUND the way Marc Bolan wanted listeners to hear his music, not compacted
and compressed in the digital CD format.
The reissue of this LP in the 2000's was REMASTERED, further changing the
sound. This is the original recording just as I first
heard it in 1968 when it was released.
And as Billy Preston once sang: "That's the way God
planned it, that's the way God wants it to be".
This LP has been stored vertically in a smoke free environment for 48 years.
