For auction is the self-titled album 77 by Talking Heads. This is a 12” 33⅓-RPM LP released by Sire Records in 1977. Of course, the song that this album was best known for was Psycho Killer. I remember walking around in a resort town one summer and that song was coming out of every store and restaurant. To the best that I can tell, this is a 1977 copy, not a later release. I see that I bought this again at the dreaded Strawberry Records for $4.49.
Pre-owned by myself and no one else, I see no scratches or faults on either side of the record. (I should have cleaned the record for the picture.) Playing is perfect. I haven’t played it in so many years. Do I see some spindle hole wear or is that just my imagination? To be sure, I grade the condition of this record Very Good++ (VG++) instead of Near Mint.
How about the record cover and the sleeve? The shrink wrap is still on the cover so the price tag is on that, not the cover. Again, is my imagination over-active? Do I see slight wear signs on a couple of corners? In this case, I don’t think so. I grade this record cover Near Mint (NM). The paper liner/sleeve is original and in Very Good++ (VG++) condition because I put some tape on the wear points more than forty years ago.
