Talking Heads "Speaking in Tongues" Robert Rauschenberg Limited Edition
This is a LP/multiple, a 33 1/3 speed record in a clear vinyl plastic container designed by Robert Rauschenberg (Oct 1925 - May 2008), with 3 inserted different Rauschenberg's coloured illustrated sheets; each is a thin plastic sheet in Yellow, Blue & Red; the frosted LP circular label is also designed by Robert Rauschenberg. Released by Sire Records # 92-37771-1; the back and front covers of the clear container are printed with 3 clear soft plastic sheets designed by Rauschenberg and stated as his concept; "the artist designed 3 rotating soft plastic disks that are affixed (but removable) on the inside of the front cover, sheets size: 12in; the thick plastic holder size: 13in. sq with rounded edges; when rotated it interacts with the record and the other printed designs.
All music written by David Byrne and performed by the Talking Heads, TRACKS: Burning Down The House, Making Flippy-Floppy, Girlfriend Is Better, Slippery People, I Get Wild/Wild Gravity, Swamp, Moon Rocks, Pull Up The Roots, and This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody).
CONDITION: The record is new and unplayed but the package has been opened. There is normal age-related yellowing to the clear thick plastic holding the illustrated 3 sheets & frosted vinyl LP record. The 3 illustrated soft plastic sheets are unmarked. There are tiny imprints of the original glue/tape that kept the illustrated sheets from being removed but otherwise the packaging is in excellent condition.
