Label: Bluesville 1043 Mono.
Deep groove label with RVG in dead wax: for jazz & classical albums on Vox, Impulse, Blue Note, Prestige, etc., look for "RVG" or "VAN GELDER" in the dead wax. Rudy Van Gelder is an American recording engineer who specializes in jazz. Often regarded as one of the most important recording engineers in music history, Van Gelder has recorded several thousand jazz sessions, including many widely recognized as classics, in a career spanning more than half a century. Van Gelder has recorded many of the great names in the genre, including Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, Sonny Rollins, Joe Henderson, Grant Green, Wayne Shorter, John Coltrane, and many others. He worked with many record companies, but he is most closely associated with Blue Note Records.
Vinyl shines as if freshly pressed, labels as if freshly pressed - Sharp & vibrant - faintest few spindle marks on only one side, not worth mention, had to use a magnifying glass to search the vinyl -just a minimal number of the most faint/ wispy hairlines, probably just paper inner sleeve scuffs. Comes with generic inner sleeve. The cover has performed its job well of protecting RARE contents and has wear to show for it in the usual places of the corners and along areas of the edges, half of top seam is split and most of the back seam, and less than an inch bottom seam split. Yellowing/dirt from age of cover with a faint name on back upper left corner and one name underlined in pen in text. See pics as they are my description.
NOTE to BUYERS: Beware of sellers that post just a few photos only. This is a red flag and suggests 2 things: #1) the seller is trying to hide the real condition of the record by limiting photographic details. They also will further camouflage their item’s condition by not offering zoom features. #2) Many sellers limit their photos because they are not only trying to camouflage their item’s condition, but because they are Lazy. A lazy seller won’t go the extra mile in other aspects of his sale, exhibited in shoddy packaging and they will drag their feet in shipping item out. Just as deceitful and lazy are the many sellers that provide only STOCK photos (not of actual item you will receive) tricking the bidder in thinking they are getting the impressive item pictured in the stock photo.

Tampa Red (January 8, 1904– March 19, 1981), born Hudson Woodbridge but known from childhood as Hudson Whittaker, was an American Chicago blues musician.
Tampa Red is best known as an accomplished and influential blues guitarist who had a unique single-string slide style. His songwriting and his silky, polished "bottleneck" technique influenced other leading Chicago blues guitarists, such as Big Bill Broonzy and Robert Nighthawk, as well as Muddy Waters, Elmore James, Mose Allison and many others. In a career spanning over 30 years he also recorded pop, R&B and hokum records. His best known recordings include the "classic compositions 'Anna Lou Blues', 'Black Angel Blues', 'Crying Won't Help You', 'It Hurts Me Too', and 'Love Her with a Feeling'".
