Description
All-time country music masterpiece! “Forked Deer” recorded for Gennett in 1927 is from the first racially integrated recording session in America. The playing here by African-American fiddler Jim Booker (born in 1872!) is sublime! Only listed here because I found a second copy. The flip side is also great— “The Buckin’ Mule” by the Short Creek Trio (Gennett 6364)!
The record has slight scuffs and wear but plays fantastic. It does have a slight warp that could be fixed, but I lack that experience. It plays fine for me, regardless, with added tracking weight.
