Description
RCS "Living Stereo" red label SB-2059 recording of the Tchaikovsky "1812" Overture, together with the Fingal's Cave Overture (Mendelssohn), the Tragic Overture (Brahms) and the Mephisto Waltz (Liszt) played the Chicago Symphony Orchestra conducted by Fritz Reiner.
The recording is dated 1959. The back states that it is a DECCA record product made from and RCA master recording.
This record is part of my personal collection. The cover is in very good condition having some shelf wear, the odd crease and and a bit of cellophane peeling. The condition of the record itself is also very good - there are some surface scuffs but I doubt these will sound. The spindle hole suggests only very occasional playing. I would expect the surface noise of this record to be minimal. Hence the realistic starting price for this now rare stereo record. The inner sleeve shown is also included - but I do not think that it is original.
I have been collecting classical records for many years and have decided to sell most of them - I now listen primarily to CDs. I have a large number of Decca SXL WBG, EMI W&G ASD and Columbia B&S SAX LPs that I will list when I get time - some very rare. I am not a record dealer.
