Columbia SAX 2368 Stereo Original Blue/Silver labels
Tchaikovsky 6th Symphony in B Minor (Opus 74) ‘Pathetique’ - Carlo Maria Giulini conducting the Philharmonia Orchestra
The record is EX+ Instrong light I can see no real marks on the vinyl at all, not even hairlines
The sleeve is VG. The front has no problems at all, barely any creasing, just a tiny bit of laminate lift, but no loss. The spine is perfectly clear, no rubbing or loss. The back has three scuff marks, however, which are over the conductors name and a few words of the descriptive text., which is the reason for the grading of VG.
I can see no spindle marks on the label, So I assume this has been rarely played. But it is very difficult to make out anything on the Blue/Silver so I can’t guarantee this. There are no marks, wear or stickers.
Apart from the scuffs on the sleeve an excellent example of a very rare record.
I have a collection of 250+ classical LPs that I will be putting up on ebay over the next weeks. There are many rare items. Many SXL - ASD - SAX - RCA Living Stereo and other recordings, mostly original pressings. There are many sought after artists and conductors; Ida Haendel - Ruggiero Ricci - Campoli – Milstein- Furtwangler - Argenta - Kogan and others.
There is no way I can listen to all of these LPs. I will describe the records as exactly as I can and, in the case where I can see anything I would consider to be an issue with the vinyl, ie something that is very noticeable, I will play at least the affected part of that item and report the results. In describing them I will grade them as carefully, visually, as I can. If there are any issues I have missed they will be very small, as I will be looking at them carefully in bright light, with a critical eye. I do not guarantee they will be completely free of the occasional pop or click. However, I would expect that a good clean would improve the playback if there are any. Please bear in mind that these early Stereo pressings are 50 to 55 years old and will have accumulated some dust and dirt, however carefully they were kept. Also please bear the above in mind when bidding, Basically, I will try to describe them as carefully as if you were looking at them in a shop.
