A Critics View

The Penguin Guide to Compact Discs gives the Tchaikovsky Concerto a qualified three star rating………..”Mullova’s performance is immaculate and finely controlled-as is the coupling-but she does not always succeed in achieving the combination of warmth and nobility that this score above all requires. However her playing has an undeniable splendour and an effortless virtuosity. Ozawa and the Boston Symphony give excellent support and the recording is exemplary.”

 

Record Condition (Play graded throughout)

Prior to playing, the record was cleaned on my Moth Record Cleaning Machine. Playback equipment comprises a Thorens TD160, Linn Basik LVX Arm with Audio Technica AT-95E Cartridge.

The record was examined in normal daylight. There are one or two very faint marks on both sides.

The sleeve is in almost “as new” condition with just a small bump to the bottom left corner. Both sides of the record play virtually without fault. There are no repetitive ticks, no signs of wear or reduction in sound quality.

Noting the faults that I have listed above, if you find that the record is not as described and you are not entirely happy with your purchase, I offer a full refund of the purchase price plus your initial postage charges. I do ask that you pay the postal charges to return the record to me. The record will be supplied with a new Anti-Static (Nagaoka style) inner sleeve, original inner sleeve and a new PVC protective outer sleeve.

I use dedicated record mailers with added stiffener. The record will be posted within three working days of payment. The cost of postage is dependent on a number of factors; The value of the item sold, it’s weight and final destination. I will only charge you what it costs me to post the item, plus £1.00 for the Mailer. An example (only) of charges is shown below:
