Description
Selling a copy of Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake ballet on 2xLP vinyl record. The box set, by London Records is the entirety of Swan Lake on two discs, catalog CSA-2204. The suite, conducted by Ernest Ansermet, Swan Lake is one of Tchaikovsky’s signature pieces and the OSR and Ansermet do an amazing job of capturing the beauty of this quintessential piece.
This release is either the first or second repress (Discogs gets fuzzy on exact releases for this kind of thing) and is in excellent condition. The discs themselves look amazing and sound crisp and clear with no distortion on a playthrough. There were a few spots (a total of seconds over the course of almost two hours) where I heard some pops but I was unable to see any deep scratches. I did perform a dry brush clean, but I lack the full vinyl cleaning setup so the discs would almost certainly benefit from a more thorough cleaning. The original poly-lined sleeves are pristine and the box itself is great. The cover has some scuffs but the adhesive “hinge” is perfect and the box has no tears or rips in the paper or cardboard.
