Tchaikovsky Symphony 6 Martinon UK Decca SXL 2004

 

Jean Martinon conducts the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra in Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 6 (“Pathetique”). An English stereo pressing on the Decca Label (SXL 2004 stampers 5K/2K), the labels have a full frequency stereophonic Sound fatband and logo, and “Original recording by…” at 10 o’clock and a groove. The record is of worn appearance with prominent scuffs which do not appear to sound and a number of smaller surface scuffs. It plays and sounds very well with a fair amount of surface noise.  The cover is also worn with creases, a ring – most noticeable on the back - and wear along the bottom with a split.
