Techno Menses / Kimihide Kusafuka - Requiem In The Sun / Re-Musick / Demise Symphonik
Pressung Original BemerkungenThis is the first in a series of compilations with a focus on '80s Japanese minimal/synth/wave and electronica. While Japan is well known for the Japanese noise (almost as Germany is known for Neue Deutsche Welle or '70s Kraut), this aspect of the '80s Japanese music culture still seems to be less explored and exposed to the interested listeners. In the early '80s there were several outstanding labels (such as Vanity) releasing great artists/bands such as Sympathy Nervous, Normal Brain, Dada, SAB, Tolerance, Kiiro Radical, DD Records. They released some 200 tapes between 1980-85 with experimental and minimal/synth-projects. This release concentrates on three tape treasures from the Japanese '80s electronic underground. All three were released on the DD Records label in 1983/84. On LP1 you will find Techno Menses' 'Requiem In The Sun' (1984) and on LP2 you will find Kimihide Kusafuka's 'Re-Musick' (1983) ans 'Demise Symphonika' (1983). Techno Menses is for fans of early Human League with a flavour of traditional Japanese march music. Kimihide Kusafuka's 'Re-Musick' is wondeful spaced electronics with beats and rhythms and his 'Demise Symphonika' is a very dark and ambient-like work.
