Teen Idles “Minor Disturbance” 7” Vinyl EP – Dischord #1 – DC Punk / Ian MacKaye
Up for sale is the 2nd pressing of Dischord Record’s legendary first release from way back in 1981. Like the 1st pressing, only 1000 copies were pressed. Features Ian MacKay of Minor Threat and Fugazi fame. Henry Rollins of Black Flag fame was the roadie for the Teen Idles and the band gives him a “Thanks Henry” shout out after the first cut.
Vinyl is in tip top shape, well-cared for, but not perfect. I bought the EP at Penguin Feather back in 1981 (label is still affixed). This EP has been played less than 20 times. Deadwax has “wherever we may roam…” on Side 1 and “Georgetown is our home” on Side 2. Black and shiny vinyl (reflections evident in pictures) with minimal noise (occasional pop and click) and no skips. If you are expecting “Dark Side of the Moon” mastering and sonics from Dischord Record’s first effort, please don’t bid. This is punk rock. I doubt you can find this EP in better condition.
There is NO lyric sheet. I don’t know whether I lost the sheet or the 2nd pressing did not come with it. As mentioned above, the original price sticker is still on the cover. Some of the glue on the cover is discolored (see pictures) and the cover is a tiny, tiny bit ragged in a couple spots where the 7” is inserted. The original sleeve is in great shape, as is the EP label. Take a look at the pictures. What you see is the actual item up for bid.
