Comments: Despite having a different compose listed this is Miss Molly made famous by Little Richard. Charles Calhoun, an aka for the Atlantic recording man Jesse Stone, wrote many rock songs, including ‘Shake Rattle,& Roll’, but I have not been able to determine any link to Molly,
Except New York’s The Playboys recorded a version in 1955 also credited to Calhoumn. This is a full throttle version with a busy bass man getting plenty of attention in the mix and an exhilarating guitar solo. B-side’s a self-penned tear-jerk ballad.
Provenance: One of the 60,000 records from the late Detroit dj Tom Knight’s collection, infamously auctioned off at Doyle, NY in the early part of 1999.
