Description

Yazoo L-1002, "Ten Years in Memphis 1927-37", first released in the late 1960s. This is a 1970s black-label pressing. Vinyl plays at VG++ with little background sound other than that from the original 78s that make up this collection. Jacket has strong, wear-free seams all around and no corner wear; there Is definite ringwear on the front which somehow the cover graphics do their best to conceal. Jacket back is very clean with no writing, stamps, or dirt. Artists include Furry Lewis ("Billy Lyons and Stock O'Lee", "Big Chief Blues"); Frank Stokes ("What's the Matter Blues", "Jazzin' the Blues"); Tom Dickson ("Happy Blues", "Death Bell Blues"); Kansas Joe ("Pile Drivin' Blues"); George Torey ("Married Woman Blues", "Lonesome Man Blues"); Gus Cannon ("Poor Boy"); Allen Shaw ("Moanin' the Blues"); Robert Wilkins ("Jailhouse Blues", "Falling Down Blues"); Big Boy Cleveland ("Gin' to Leave You Blues"). Shipping is $4.00 media mail, $10.00 priority mail within the continental U.S.; $16.00 regular airmail to the U.K., Europe, Japan, Korea, Australia, and New Zealand. Additional single LPs in a single package are $1.00 extra within U.S. and Canada, $3.00 overseas. For overseas shipments, registered mail is strongly recommended at $14.50 extra. Many old records are practically antiques and should be treated that way. This LP will be packaged with the record inside an inner sleeve but outside the jacket; both are placed inside a sealed outer sleeve and shipped inside a special oversized handcrafted mailer with padding on all sides. It is designed thick enough not to be bent in transit and strong enough to withstand a drop from a second-story window. More than two LPs together may be mailed inside a heavy Bags Unlimited pizza-style box. Your LP should arrive in the same condition as on the day it was shipped. All used LPs are play-graded on a VPI turntable with Audioquest tonearm and Grado cartridge.
