Grading.... I try and grade sensibly... most of the reggae I am listing is ex jukebox so will probably not be anywhere near perfect .... some will look terrible but play well enough.. some new looking stuff plays not great due to terrible pressing standards..
I listen to bits of each record to grade but cant guarantee perfect grading every time. really rare or valuable records will get a better inspection.
my grades are
Mint..... mint unplayed or played once and great pressing perfect...
Ex.... played a few times, good pressing and clean... near perfect with very minimal vinyl noise
Vg+ played a few times with a few marks and a bit of noise; light clicks, but nothing horrific... might well have a few light scratches and look dirty but has low noise levels.
Vg played lots, some annoying surface noise and clicks, look a bit scruffy but plays ok .... no really deep scratches
G.... tatty copy, more than moderate noises .. nasty scratches .. plays through but pretty annoying might have edge warps or just be incredibly filthy...
Fair.... ratty horrible noisy piece of plastic... it is round and the stylus can just about cope. Collection filler stuff.. or made into ashtrays or clocks...

Insurance is up to you and doesn't cost much extra, over £30 mandatory and at cost.
I send my stuff 1st Class UK and airmail elsewhere.
Vinyl posted in proper mailers, I send cd's in jiffy bags, mostly recycled ones.
