Description
Up for bid is a 45 rpm record by Terry Knight And The Pack ~ Better Man Than I/Got Love on Lucky 11 Records 45-226 Flint, Michigan. Autographed by the band in 1966. Record is from my personal collection and has been in my possession since approx. 1967 (45 years). Record was given to me by a friend of my sister who had a brother who worked at a local am radio station in Flint from what I can remember. That is how I believe it got autographed by the band with his brother's am radio connection. It is signed by (besides me ~ my name is on both sides and friends initials) ~ Terry Knight (singer) ~ Bob Caldwell (keyboards) ~ Don Brewer (drums & Grand Funk fame) ~ Curt Johnson (guitar) ~ Mark Farner (bass & Grand Funk fame). Farner was hired by Knight to play bass in 1966 after Pack bass player Herm Jackson broke his leg. Knight fired guitarist Curt Johnson in 1967 and hired Farner to play guitar. The rest is, as they say, history. That is how you can date this record by who signed the record in relation to who is in the band at the time. Being from the Flint area I was always a Pack fan but had to do the research in relation to who signed the record and when. Record is in VG condition. Audio sounds good, record has some light crackling/static before music starts and light again after song ends (each side). Has light scruff and surface scratches from normal use. Happy Bidding!
