Crazy Power ballad A side - Quintessential Garage B side
This is an original promotion copy of Terry Knight & The Pack’s 7” Cameo Parkway single
I (Who Have Nothing) b/w Numbers
Released January 1967 – only one owner!
"I (Who Have Nothing)" made the US Billboard chart at 46 in 1966 but it wasn’t a UK success. A quintessential garage band, they openly imitated best-selling rockers of the mid-1960s. The A side is a fabulously histrionic version of the Leiber and Stoller song later popularised by Shirley Bassey. While the B side is a garage thrash cocktail of Dylan cum Yardbirds with a relentless fuzz guitar riff.
They had a short-lived career in 1966-67 then largely sank without trace – until Terry Knight stepped down and guitarist Mark Farner took the lead to form the nucleus of Capitol’s best-selling act of the early 1970s, Grand Funk Railroad initially managed and produced by Knight.
All recordings by Terry Knight and the Pack have been deleted since 1973, except for "I (Who Have Nothing)" which is included in the Cameo Parkway 1957-1967 box set. Which makes this an unmissable rarity for any collector.

I've owned this single from new since it was given to me in 1967. I was always a bit of a hi-fi nut so I can absolutely vouch for the fact that it's been well looked after and played on reasonable equipment - probably only played half a dozen times. It comes in the original Cameo Parkway sleeve.
I'm not familiar with the conventions for grading the condition. However as you can see from the pictures the sleeve is clean and in reasonable condition with no writing or pen or pencil marks, and apart from a split at the left hand fold has no other significant marks or tears.
The record itself has no visible blemishes at all that I can see. The label is clean and virtually unmarked, once again with no writing, pen or pencil marks. The centre is intact and the spindle hole is perfect. The playing surface has no visible scratches and looks as good as new. The reproduction quality is about as good as it got from a 1970 vinyl single pressing - it's never going to be CD quality, but pretty good nevertheless. There's no audible scratches or crackles other than the usual surface noise that you'd get with any new vinyl record. The lead in and play out grooves are clean and glitch-free.
I believe this is as close as you'll get to a mint condition original copy of this very rare single. This record was not a hit so demos and stock copies will be very hard to find.
