Straightjacket - Organised Confusion - Easy Way Out - This Week
Original pressing version of the Adicts first single. This is my personal copy which I bought from the bargain bin section of Fon Records in Sheffield on 28.04.86. I know this because I found the receipt in the sleeve. I loved the Adicts and I was both amazed and delighted to find a copy at the time.
Vinyl Condition: Visually the vinyl looks near mint and for the most part plays near mint. However on the run in and run out grooves there is surface noise. I think this may be more of a problem in the pressing because visually the vinyl is virtually flawless.
Straight Jacket - Near Mint.
One short light piece of surface noise in the first two seconds proceeded immediately by one light click.
Organised Confusion - Excellent
One short piece of surface noise in the gap between songs going into the very first chord of Organised Confusion. The surface noise strikes twice more during the track in the breaks but is much lighter this time.
Easy Way Out - Excellent
One light piece of surface noise on run in groove and again in the last two seconds of the track.
This Week - Very Good
There is a grating sound in the quiet intro to this track which lasts until the drums kick in (about 10 seconds in total).
Overall I would have to classify it this single as Excellent in terms of sound quality though for 98% of each track it is near mint. I have rarely played this single as I would always listen to the 'This is Your Life' album which contained these tracks.
Sleeve Condition: Very Good
The paper fold over cover has always been in a plastic sleeve and for the most part this has protected it well. Part of the wall on the front right edge of the sleeve however is missing. I've looked at other covers of this single and it should be present. However there is no damage whatsoever to this area so the ink must have rubbed off over time. Otherwise it is in excellent condition with just a very slight crease in the top right corner.
There is no paper track listing/ single info insert in this single. It was there once but it isn't now. I guess I didn't consider it important enough to cherish! My mistake.
Looking at the receipt and the sticker on the front (it's on the plastic sleeve not the paper) I paid £0.95p at the time but I'm looking to sell it for considerably more!
The record will be posted in a designated vinyl mailer with twin stiffeners for safe transit. Postage will be second class signed for delivery.
I am not an expert at record classification - but I have tried to describe the single accurately and honestly. If you disagree with my judgements I am happy to accept returns.
