Description

An original 1st press of Animalisms on the UK Decca label. Matrix 1A/1A. The heavy set vinyl comes housed in an original MacNeill Press cover.
Vinyl (Ex-) In very nice condition and has seen light to moderate use. Under close inspection there are a few marks either side. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a NEAR EXCELLENT level of playback with one slight deviation. Intros and inbetweens are nice and quiet and the audio comes across with great clarity. The audio quality is excellent as is often the case with these early Decca mono pressings. Interference is relatively minor and infrequent. All we detected was a touch of static in a couple of tracks and then a few pops in the first section of 'Maudie'. None of it is invasive or does anything to detract from what is a superb level of playback.
Cover (Vg) A difficult cover to find in top condition particularly due to its rather flimsy construction. This example has a very nice front with minimal ageing or marking. The rear exhibits a touch of fading in places. The main issue is the flipback down in the bottom left corner which is partially torn away leaving the bottom seam open for a couple of inches. Other than that edge wear is reasonably light and the text on the spine is all still legible.
