It was released in 1992 on the ‘R&S Records’ label (cat. no. RS 9201), and comes in a card picture sleeve with a white paper inner. This is the original release.
The Aphex Twin is undoubtedly the best known of the (many) aliases used by acclaimed electronic artist Richard D. James. His debut EP, 'Analogue Bubblebath' was released in 1991, and he went on to have credible success with the albums 'Selected Ambient Works 85-92', 'Selected Ambient Works Volume II' and '...I Care Because You Do' along with UK charting singles like 'Come To Daddy' and 'Windowlicker'.
Over the years, James has used a number of different monikers, such as AFX, Caustic Window, the Tuss, Universal Indicator, Power-Pill and GAK, with most releases being on the Sheffield-based label 'Warp Records' or on his own 'Rephlex Records' label. In 2001, Guardian journalist Paul Lester called James “the most inventive and influential figure in contemporary electronic music”.
'Digeridoo' was originally released by The Aphex Twin on this 12” vinyl in Belgium, on the influential 'R&S Records' label. It also includes an early fade of 'Flap Head', plus 'Phloam' and an extended version of 'Isoprophlex' (a track from the first Aphex Twin release, 'Analogue Bubblebath').
The UK release of 'Digeridoo' followed later the same year, via the 'Outer Rhythm' label, with some slight differences. The 'R&S' 12” was also reissued twice in Belgium, firstly in 2001 and again in 2006. Both differ from the original, as they feature a barcode on the rear of the sleeve and label email and website details on the silver label.
The sleeve is in excellent condition, with very minimal signs of wear. The vinyl appears to be in very good condition, but for accuracy, there are a number of very light surface marks on both sides, but nothing that should affect playback.
