The Aranbee Pop Symphony Orchestra: Original UK Immediate IMSP 003. Stereo pressing.
Played from start to finish - no skips, no jumps. Deep cleaned with a professional record cleaning machine. A few tics and pops - nothing distracting. Some light lines. Small tear in top right side of sleeve does not impact negatively on the overall look of the sleeve. Some wear on edges. 144g vinyl.
This, the 3rd LP released on the Immediate label, was the first LP recorded especially for the label. (The McCoys IMLP 001 and The Wonderful World Of Sam Cooke IMLP 002 were leased from USA labels).
At the time of release Immediate boss and Rolling Stones manager, Andrew Loog Oldham, was busy profiling the two Rolling Stones frontmen by encouraging them to produce other artists. The Aranbee Pop Symphony Orchestra was similar to the Andrew Loog Oldham Orchestra formula of a few years prior. Take current pop hits and rearrange them with strings giving them a light symphonic sound. It's doubtful that Keith Richards had anything to do with this release except to lend his name to the project.
The album was not a chart topper but did set the course as a serious indie label.
