LOVE ME DO

This is one of three copies I have listed, so if you are bidding please have a look and decide if there is one you might like

1962 1st pressing 45-R 4949 7XCE 17144-1N / 17145-1N ZT 1-T / 1-H

Hard to know where to start with this one, so I will divide the description into 'For' and 'Against'
For: * It is a genuine first day issue of this rare red label pressing * It has the earliest possible ZT tax code stamped in the dead wax * Side 2 carries a genuine MT tax stamp, issued to claim the correct amount of tax at the point when the disc was sold (after 1st Jan.'63) * Both sides play from start to finish with no skips or stalls * Sound quality is surprisingly clear with no appreciable deterioration at all
Against: * There are many lines and scuffs which do cause slight background and some pops and clicks * The centre is removable, although it does stay in place - I think it may be from another red label disc although the silver lines and spokes all line up on side 2 * Someone has gone to the unbelievable trouble of creating a paste over label for side one, probably because the silver lines didn't line up on that side * However, the perimeter edge is uneven, as if it has been cut with scissors and the paper has a glossy sheen (see photo)

Obviously this could only be a collection filler but it is still very playable and sounds remarkably good despite all the above peculiarities
