A comparatively inauspicious start for this little unknown beat combo, and of course now highly regarded. The Fab Four's beginning landmark!
In it's modest chart success in Sir George Martin's view a reasonable start, he was enthused by the new idea for him - of producing a pop group instead of only comedy spoken word and old style big band records.
Indeed, he suggested that their next release should be the jaunty "How Do You Do It", his projected possible 'number one' hit 45. Well in fact it WAS number 1 - but for Gerry and The Pacemakers! These youths were insistent that they could compose their own tunes, and this they certainly came to prove!
The Beatles were off the starting line here, and certain they had more to offer than cover tunes.
'Please Please Me' got them much more attention - and sales. It was then that we found out they were also comedy gold - sharp smart quips in every interview!! Everybody wanted to know these chirpy sharp suited lads.
Here then is the significant and historic debut 45 - an essential original single from The BEATLES.
CONDITION;
The VINYL is VG++ with a little light scuff.
Plays EXCELLENT and the music dominates.
The b side has a 'bruise' depression line, playing with no issue.
This has a high shine, perhaps professionally cleaned or polished, the playback is wonderful so it's been well preserved for 64 years.
A very decent copy.
Red & silver text LABLES are EXCELLENT, no stickers or writing.
The original Company COVER is clean VG++
